ACRiX (Applied Circu: Radically Extreme)

Registration form is available here.

The ACRiX program is a new endeavor by Moresports and Gymnastics BC. The ACRiX program (Applied Circus: Radically Extreme) aims to offer a different sporting opportunity for these youth, focusing on a combination of gymnastics and circus arts and offering a chance for the youth to showcase their new skills in an end of session show.

The Circus Arts included in ACRiX are juggling (scarves, balls, rings and clubs), diabolo, flowersticks, contact juggling balls and yo-yo. The gymnastics portion of the program will include balancing acts (single person, multiple persons, static and dynamic), pyramid building and tumbling. This portion is referred to as acrobatics, which is learning how to maneuver your body through space.

ACRiX is for boys and girls in Grade 5-7 who have not had any exposure or involvement in gymnastics or circus programs. Everyone is welcome as long as they recognize and respect the diversity of experience and skill level of all involved.

The ACRiX program is a 7-week session with 1.5 hours classes each Saturday beginning on February 23 to April 12, 2008. The session culminates with a grand finale show on Saturday April 12, 2008 in the evening (location TBA) for family and friends. Times and Locations are as follows:
