East Central Coyotes Take To The Court In More Ways Than One This Winter!!

With the successful launch of the Shooting Hoops basketball program this fall at Cunningham, the Coyotes have taken to the court this winter in an additional MoreSports activity with the introduction of SMASH Badminton at three pilot elementary school sites within the Gladstone Family of Schools and East Central Hub. Beaconsfield, Cunningham, and Selkirk Elementary are now all in the swing of things with their respective after-school grades 4-7 badminton programs that run the week of February 4^th through the week of April 7^th with the exception of Spring Break. (Monday, March 17^th through Tuesday, March 25^th) Under the direction of trained MoreSports Yell Badminton Technical Level One secondary school students from both Gladstone and Van Technical schools, each 90-minute session (3:30 – 5p.m) has been carefully constructed to enhance their comprehensive of the game through activities and drills that build their skill and strategy within the sport of badminton. It will be some of these skills that will be put to the test when Gladstone Secondary School hosts their first annual Badminton Play Day on Saturday, March 8^th for 3 of our MoreSports hubs that are hosting badminton this winter. Stay tuned to this website for more details coming up on this exciting event!!!
