              Fastbreak Basketball Festival

              Information for Parents 

 

Parents and siblings of current Fastbreak Basketball participants are invited to participate, watch and support your basketball player as they show you their new skills.  It’s all about fun, basketball, food and festivities!

 

Who:  For all current Fastbreak Basketball participants at Elsie Roy, False Creek, Henry Hudson and Lord Roberts and Lord Roberts Annex Elementary Schools

 

What:                   MoreSports Fastbreak Basketball Festival.

Grade 2/3 students will participate in fun drills and carnival games including a game play station. For Grades 4, 5, 6, 7, where each team will have the opportunity to play games against other participating schools (tournament draw). 

When:      Saturday, December 5, 2009, Grades 2 & 3 @ 9:30 – 11:15 am

Grades 4, 5, 6 & 7 @ 12:15 – 2:45pm

*Exact game times to be announced at the Community Centre on the Festival Day!

 

Where:                    Roundhouse Community Centre – Gym  181 Roundhouse Mews

 (between Drake and Davie St.) Please use the meter parking or the public pay parking lot under the Roundhouse Community Centre (enter off Drake Street).  We encourage carpooling or transit! 

 

Why:                  To provide the opportunity for students to practice their basketball skills with other schools in a fun, non-competitive environment.

 Also, we are collecting food for the food bank, please bring and nonperishable item.

 Who knows who might show up to hand out special gifts to those who are more nice than naughty?!?!

 

Food:                  1 piece of pizza (plain cheese or pepperoni), 1 juice and 1 mandarin orange will be provided free of charge to all currently registered basketball participants.  This food will also be available to parents and siblings at low cost.

 

Fun:                                  In addition to the basketball festivities, there will be a Face Painting/Temporary tattoo station and Bingo.

It is the responsibilities of parents to ensure their children have transportation to and from Roundhouse Community centre and to supervise their children during this event.  Please talk to your local MoreSports Basketball Coach, if transportation is a challenge.
