What's New at MoresportsTennis Canada and BNP Paradis bring Davis Cup tennis to MoreSports
The Davis Cup first-round tie between Canada and France comes to Vancouver February 10th to 12th and MoreSports kids are benefitting from the festivities. Tennis Canada was joined by Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson, BC's Ministre of Community, Sport and Culture, Ida Chong, and MoreSports reps on January 19th at the spectacular new Trout Lake Community Centre to mark the return of Davis Cup tennis to Canada. The City and Province have each donated $100,000 to support the event; Sport Canada has contributed a further $50,000.
Tennis Canada marked the occasion by providing the opportunity to enjoy tennis to MoreSports youth, supplying progressive tennis equipment and donating funding to support coaching. A group of MoreSports youth were on hand to demonstrate their enthusiasm for the sport, playing a vigorous game of mini-tennis using sponge balls. BNP Paradis is also providing an opportunity for some lucky MoreSports kids to see the pros in action, donating 25 tickets per day for what promises to be a very exciting tie event.
