"I really wanted to gain more experience working with kids and be able to get my volunteer hours. Plus, I really enjoy basketball, it's a really fun sport." Jerome's most memorable moment as a volunteer for MoreSports was during the Basketball Wrap up Festival-"It was such a great experience, to see all those children and families having fun. I really enjoyed being part of team with other volunteers, and teaching the kids how to play. We all worked together to make it a really fun event." Jerome was able to take initiative and encompass the traits of a true leader. During the EFV Saturday tournaments, Jerome is relied upon to be there on time, with tons of energy; helping to create a positive environment for everyone involved. His calm demeanor and enthusiastic attitude is infectious and all the kids are delighted to be around him. Jerome has made an outstanding effort to make sure the kids play, have fun, and learn together. Jerome is an open-minded individual and always willing to learn from others. He makes an impressive effort to ask questions and gain knowledge about the various sports he coaches. He is a hard working individual and he is eager to improve and refine his skills as a volunteer. Jerome demonstrates his keen enthusiasm through his actions and thoughtfulness. He is always the first volunteer on site, and the last one to leave. He assists his supervisor and makes sure that the tournaments are organized, fair, and most importantly, fun for all the children and families. |
