Disability Awareness Course Postponed to Saturday, January 17th, 2009, 9a.m. - 4:30p.m.
Jan 17, 2009 -
In light of several contributing factors, MoreSports Yell officially announces the postponement of our NEW Disability Awareness Training program to its new date and time; Saturday, January 17th 9a.m. - 4:30p.m. (venue to be announced)
This first time training opportunity to be provided by Yell was to debut this coming Saturday but has been pushed ahead in an effort to maximize participation from youth interested in working with children of various special needs including those who are autistic and/or have physical limitations.
BC Blind Sports, BC Wheelchair Sports Association, and the Canucks Autism Network have all partnered with Yell in this inaugural offering of this program and will be featured as presenters as part of the delivery of this informative workshop.
Youth successful in this workshop will be provided with a certificate of achievement and in turn be immediately placed in a volunteer capacity within upcoming Winter 2009 MoreSports partnered autistic childrens' programs.
Registrations for the Disability Awareness Course will continue to be received up until the end of business hours on Thursday, January 15th @ 5p.m.
Please feel free to direct any further questions, comments, or concerns with this upcoming course to Michael Henderson, MoreSports Yell Coordinator @ michael.henderson@moresports.org
